Rocks & Rings

In partnership with Curling Canada, the Egg Farmers Rocks & Rings program is coming to OES from Friday, Oct. 12th until Thursday, Oct. 18th. This program is designed to introduce the Olympic sport of curling to elementary school children. By bringing the curling rink to the school gym we will reach children that may not otherwise have access to the roaring game.

The best part? They bring everything to the kids – no field trip or school buses required! Curling is a highly social sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. It is a fantastic physical activity that can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities. It also promotes sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Rocks & Rings will take over the gym and classes will take turns visiting for 30 minutes sessions of fun and instruction.

Various drills, relays and team-building activities are used to introduce students to the sport of curling. It is sure to be a highly interactive program with the emphasis on fun!

Unique indoor floor curling equipment is used to provide a true curling experience without requiring ice!

At the end, students will receive their own Rocks and Rings Graduation Certificate that they can share and discuss with their friends and families.
