Last Day of the 2018 - 2019 School Year
The last day of school for students is Thursday, June 27th. On this day we will be hosting our annual awards ceremony starting at 10:30. Awards will be followed by a school-wide picnic K-6 and a grade 7 potluck. Report cards will be handed out at the end of the day or mailed to those students not attending school on June 27th. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing summer break!

Our OES School Council has received a grant to bring Sound Kreations to our students from January 18th through 26th. Each class will receive 4 classes of dance instruction with the enthusiastic Miss Nicole! Students have been having a wonderful time and will be performing at 1:30 on Friday, January 26th. We would like to thank everyone that joined us for this wonderful celebration!
We are providing links to all videos that meet our FOIP requirements. Enjoy!
Sound Kreations Philosophy:
If there was a ‘behind the scene’ mantra for SoundKreations Inc. it would be this: “opportunities for success, opportunities for success, and opportunities for success”. This means that they do not just offer students dance and poetry instruction, they offer them a chance to explore what is possible in a safe environment filled with people who believe in them. Through dance they strive to deliver self‐confidence, the freedom of full self‐expression, the knowledge that as long as you put yourself entirely into something there is no such thing as failing, and of course an authentic love for the arts.
Sound Kreations Mandate:
To introduce a method of maintaining physical health and developing Physical Literacy in a fun and accessible way. To develop the student’s skills as collaborative workers and creative problem solvers. To give students an opportunity to develop new methods of healthy and creative recreation. To give students a new framework within which the creative process is socially encouraged. To explore an art‐form with ancient roots through a modern‐day lens giving renewed appreciation for the creative process. To deliver the program in such a way that the students relate immediately to the instructor and material, bringing the participation and involvement of the students to an exceptionally high level. To create a safe environment for the students to explore, create, and perform within. To offer endless opportunities for success!
