Another Successful Fair

Book Fair Volunteers getting our new books shelf ready.

We’ve wrapped up another successful fall Scholastic Book Fair!  This event would not be possible without our Grade 7 Book Fair Volunteers.  They helped with set-up, greeted families, assisted fellow students with purchases, worked the cashbox, and did clean up at both evening events.  Behind the scenes they volunteered many recesses to prepare, then pack up and send off the crates.

Their dedication pays off.  All told, we received over $700 worth of items from the fair and have a $1000 Scholastic Credit.  This credit is already earmarked to refurbish our Thinking Things; the hands-on learning activities shelved at the back of the Learning Commons.  This means additional Lego, bookmark supplies, and more, will soon be added to the space.

The Grade 7 crew was responsible for choosing books for their classroom libraries, and for the Learning Commons collection too.  In continuing the student centred approach they will also aid in decision making of spending our credit amount.

Thank you to our OES parent community for your amazing support of this event.  Parents and volunteers make Book Fair the huge success that it is!
